LOCATION

Promenade View is situated along the coast in the village of Mumbles, also known as Oystermouth. Mumbles is a thriving seaside town and is sometimes referred to as 'the gateway to the Gower Pensinsula', as Mumbles is the start of Gower's beautiful coastline, where you will find stunning beaches and spectacular countryside.

The natural beauty and diversity of the Gower landscape is undisputed. Its beaches are among some of the best in Britain, if not the world. It was the first area in Britain to be awarded the honour of being designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956. South Gower, with its rocky coastline has numerous sandy beaches and hidden coves all within a 15min drive, whilst North Gower's more rugged moorland landscape gives way to long stretches of sandy beaches at Llangennith and Whitford Sands.

ACTIVITIES

Swansea Bay has everything you need... the UK's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 'Gower' – awards winning beaches – waterfalls – unspoilt scenery - vibrant city life – renowned for water sports and cycling – home to one of the counties best walking festivals.

WALKING

In 2012 the Wales Coast Path opened, the world's first uninterrupted route along a national coast. The path shows off our beaches, estuaries, cliffs, woodlands and hills, There are also city waterfronts, writers' retreats, fun-parks and historic castles.

There's 870 miles of coast path to explore. We don't expect you to walk it all in one go; it only takes one weekend break to discover your new favourite bit, so using Mumbles as your base you can easily explore the Gower Peninsula.

With the 2nd greatest tidal range in the world, Swansea lends itself as an exciting destination for a watersport holiday.

Gower is the ideal location for first-rate surfing, listing Llangennith among the top '10 Classic Surfing Beaches' and recommended as one of the best places to learn to surf.  Langland and Caswell (a 5 minute drive from Promenade View B&B), also offer superb surfing.

You can also enjoy, sailing, kitesurfing, diving, canoeing, powerboating, paddleboarding, windsurfing and wakeboarding.  Swansea really does have a lot to offer, whether you are a seasoned sailor or in need of tuition.
